Senior Estimator I

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator I with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Senior Estimator will provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of full estimates on large and complex work projects. RESPONSIBILITIESLead estimating efforts on large and complex projectsProvide conceptual, detailed, self-perform work estimates, and cost modelsOrganize, research, and strategically plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and submissionDetermine subcontractors for bidding process and final estimate pricingAssign work to estimating team and ensure accurate information is incorporatedConduct quantity surveys, cost estimates, and review subcontractor proposalsResearch tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, and permitsWrite and submit Requests for InformationMaintain regular communication with team members, owners, architects, and engineersEnsure understanding of project scope and updates among team members and subcontractorsResearch and analyze historical project data for current applicationsAssist in selecting building systems and software programsAssist in project schedulingLead, train, mentor, and manage estimators, including performance evaluations QUALIFICATIONSAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience Minimum nine years construction industry experienceSix years construction estimating experience LEED AP, DBIA professional, preferredOrganized and detailed with proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projectsPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsApplicable mathematical skillsProficient with building/estimating techniques and software: BuildingConnected, WinEst/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google EarthCurrent driver’s license A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage Dental plan 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursement Adoption Assistance Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $125,000 - $192,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
