Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:


We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care, case management, and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Key functions include patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care in the Operating Room setting.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Document patient care activities and communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Participate in case management and discharge planning as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, preferably with Operating Room exposure.
• Proficiency in clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for field work if applicable.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in other specialties such as Medical/Surgical, ICU, ER, Psychiatric, Labor & Delivery, or PACU.
• Advanced certifications related to perioperative nursing.
• Experience with electronic medical records and documentation systems.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• May be required to participate in on-call rotations or extended shifts depending on surgical schedules.
• Strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards is mandatory.

Scheduling:

• Variable shifts including 0630-1500, 0830-1700, and 1100-1830.
• Shift assignments may vary based on departmental needs and surgical case load.
