Overview
Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) travel assignment in Templeton, CA. Start date 06/08/2026 for a 13-week assignment at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Weekly pay range: $2,681 to $2,769 per week. Shift: Day shift, 4x10s (0700–1730). This is a travel - temporary assignment with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative first assist support for procedures in ortho, ortho totals, gynecology, and general surgery as the RNFA
- Scrub and circulate as part of the OR team, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
- Prepare operating room, instruments, implants, and equipment; assist with patient positioning and instrumentation
- Assist surgeon with exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, and other intraoperative tasks; monitor patient status and communicate intraoperatively
- Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation; participate in postoperative handoffs and quality checks
- Participate in on-call coverage (one night per week) as required

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Certification: Certification of completion of an approved didactic RNFA course (RNFA required); CNOR required
- Experience: minimum 3 years scrub and circulate experience in an acute care facility; must have worked in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months
- Specialization: must have RNFA with experience in ortho, ortho totals, gyn, and general surgery
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS (or HealthStream ACLS or RQI ACLS) required; PALS (or HS-PALS or RQIPALS) preferred
- Professional liability insurance: current and active
- Additional requirements: active surgeon review annually
