Physical Therapist - Full Time

We're looking for a Physical Therapist to take on a full-time role with a hospital outpatient rehabilitation department in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. You will evaluate, treat, and educate patients to restore and maximize function. Apply today and a recruiter will reach out with details.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy. Master's or Doctoral Degree acceptable if from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Michigan Physical Therapist license is required to start the position.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 1 month of hire. American Heart Association or American Red Cross acceptable. BLS is highly preferred at hire.
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy. Ability to float to acute care preferred.
• Ability to supervise and delegate to Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, and students per regulatory standards.
• Demonstrated competency in documentation, billing-related documentation, and use of Microsoft Windows.
• Successful completion of employer-specific orientation and new hire competency prior to independent practice.
• Willingness to complete fingerprinting and background checks as required by the facility. Employer will pay for fingerprinting.
• Ability to perform medium physical demand duties: occasional lifting/carrying up to 21-50 lbs, frequent 20 lb tasks, and extended periods of standing/walking.

Additional Role Details:

• Position type: Direct Hire. Duration listed as 52 weeks for tracking purposes.
• Primary setting: Outpatient rehabilitation with periodic float to acute care.
• Shift: Days. Typical hours 9:00 AM-5:30 PM with flexibility. 5x8 schedule.
• Weekend requirement: Rotating weekends; approximately 4 weekends per year. Holiday frequency approximately one every three years.
• Clinical duties: patient evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, documentation, patient/family education, equipment recommendation, case management, participation in interdisciplinary meetings, and promotion of therapy services.
• May require exposure to communicable diseases and use of personal protective equipment. Annual OSHA training required.
• Interpersonal skills: effective oral and written English communication and ability to work independently and in teams.
