Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse for NICU Nights, providing high-acuity care to critically ill newborns during overnight shifts. Manages respiratory, hemodynamic, and developmental needs while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support safe, family-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct neonatal nursing care for patients requiring intensive monitoring and life-support interventions.
• Assess vital signs, oxygenation status, perfusion, and other clinical indicators and escalate concerns promptly.
• Administer medications and interventions per NICU protocols and document patient responses accurately.
• Support safe transport, admission, and discharge processes for newborns in accordance with unit standards.
• Perform and coordinate bedside care activities, including feeding support and maintaining infection-control practices.
• Float to like units as needed within scope, completing required onboarding and orientation tasks.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license (NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start).
• Maintain current BLS certification and NRP certification.
• Possess at least 1 year of NICU experience.
• Demonstrate competency in neonatal critical care workflows and bedside assessment skills.
• Have strong travel readiness, including compliance with required pre-start onboarding items (e.g., fingerprints).
• Exhibit flexibility and reliability for weekend coverage and night-shift scheduling.
