Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team, with a primary focus on testing, loading, and validating firmware on electronic assemblies and systems. This role involves hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and PCB assemblies using various diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies. You will identify root causes of failures and assist in implementing corrective actions, as well as review, interpret, and create electrical schematics and blueprints. The position supports electrical design efforts for both new and existing PCB-based products.
Responsibilities
- Test, load, and validate firmware on electronic assemblies and systems.
- Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and PCB assemblies.
- Utilize a variety of diagnostic tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Identify root causes of failures and assist in corrective actions.
- Review, interpret, and create electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Support electrical design efforts for new and existing PCB-based products.
- Apply strong working knowledge of Ohm’s Law and electrical fundamentals.
- Collaborate with engineers to modify, improve, and validate designs.
- Work with customer-provided designs as well as internally developed concepts.
- Document test results, issues, and solutions as needed.
Essential Skills
- Strong experience in Electrical Engineering with experience in testing, design, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Proficiency in Ohm's Law and core electrical principles.
- Extensive experience in firmware testing and loading.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with PCB design, manufacturing, and electronics manufacturing.
- Hardware validation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred, not required).
- Experience in PCB manufacturing, electronics testing, or production environments.
- Familiarity with embedded systems or hardware validation.
Work Environment
Join a dynamic team in a growing PCB manufacturing company situated in a collaborative and hands-on environment. With approximately 25 employees on site, you will work in a manufacturing setting supporting both custom and production-scale electronics programs. Our work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, in Wappingers Falls, NY. This role offers a long-term contract-to-perm opportunity where you will be involved in every phase of design, testing, and production. Experience a supportive work setting with shop floor and bench areas, ideal for engineers seeking hands-on experience in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wappingers Falls, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
