Title Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer Summary KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides engineering and advanced technology solutions to intelligence and national security customers. In this role, you will help protect national security by delivering mission‑critical satellite communications and nuclear command, control, and communications systems. Location Petersburg Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado Springs, CO. 100% onsite. Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer direction. Compensation Basic compensation: $137,000 – $171,000 in Colorado Springs. Responsibilities Engage both government and corporate stakeholders to produce outstanding results. Provide senior‑level critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to the government customer, driving technical challenges to their most logical resolution. Coordinate with stakeholders from DoW agencies to commercial industry to translate requirements into tangible, mission‑focused outcomes. Learn and apply established government SEIT processes and procedures in support of MILSATCOM and NC3 O&S activities. Develop, analyze, and maintain systems engineering documentation and capability requirements to ensure alignment with mission objectives and continuous readiness. Apply CMMI frameworks and DoW acquisition best practices to daily program office operations, directly advancing strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems. Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer direction. Qualifications – Required Active DoW SECRET clearance required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or an equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university. 10 years of experience in SE&I associated with system acquisitions and/or O&S. Expertise with requirements development and analysis and with the development of systems engineering‑related documents. Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., Jira/Confluence). Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills. Effective interpersonal and team‑player skills. Clear and concise written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Qualifications – Preferred 10+ years of experience in a DoW program office with an understanding of DoW acquisition processes. 10+ years of experience working with strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems. Experience working in a CMMI environment. Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., Jira/Confluence). Direct experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (CM) processes. Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
