EED Child Development Instructional Aide (C10) : Infant/Toddler and Preschool Classrooms The EED Instructional Aide supports teachers in a child development program by assisting with instruction, classroom activities, and daily care to promote children’s learning and development. Key Responsibilities & Role Details Support teachers and certificated staff in delivering instruction and engaging students in learning activities Assist students with daily needs, use of materials, and development of positive behaviors, habits, and skills Supervise students during classroom, play, meal, and restroom times to ensure safety and appropriate conduct Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials, equipment, and learning spaces Monitor assigned areas, including indoor and outdoor environments, to uphold safety and behavior expectations Assist with snack and meal preparation and supervision Support classroom routines, including nap setup and cleanup Support children’s physical, social, and emotional needs, including meals, restroom routines, and rest time Maintain records, assist with communication with families, and support classroom operations as needed Accompany students on field trips and assist with related logistics Perform other related duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent AND passed District Instructional Aide Exam; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND passed CBEST; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND 48 college units (official transcripts required); OR Associate’s degree or higher Six units of Early Childhood Education Preferred Qualifications Bilingual skills (e.g., Cantonese or Spanish) desirable Demonstrated effectiveness in working with young children in a classroom setting What We Offer SFUSD offers a competitive salary of $34.25-$45.54 hourly commensurate with experience in a similar position.
