Travel Nursing Job Details Employment Type: 13-week travel registered nurse contract Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220 Location: Saint Johnsbury, Vermont Unit: General medical-surgical unit serving primarily adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week; 36 hours weekly Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; every other weekend required Start Date: As soon as possible, no later than November 11, 2026; traveler starts are on Wednesdays Orientation: During orientation week, contracts scheduled for 48 hours may be guaranteed 36 hours because of the midweek start Openings: 3 Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements At least 3 years of recent acute care registered nursing experience Current Vermont RN license or valid compact RN license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Seasonal influenza vaccination required Meditech experience preferred Ability to care for adult patients and occasional pediatric patients; pediatric-only RN experience does not meet the needs of this assignment Reliable personal transportation is required due to the rural location and limited public transportation and rideshare availability All required credentials must be submitted at least five business days before the start date Travel RN Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for patients on a general medical-surgical unit Care for patients across medical-surgical, orthopedic, outpatient, observation, swing-bed, and occasional pediatric populations Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care Address patients’ physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and age-specific needs Collaborate with providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, effective outcomes Recognize changes in patient condition and take appropriate clinical action Provide patient and family education while supporting continuity of care Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow applicable nursing standards and protocols About This Vermont Travel Nursing Opportunity Join a collaborative medical-surgical team in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, and provide high-quality care to primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric assignments.
