CAS has been serving children with autism and their families in the Omaha area since 2011. We use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help children build communication, social, play, daily living, and other meaningful skills that can make a difference throughout their lives.

This work requires patience, consistency, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Our RBTs spend their days actively engaged with children-not sitting behind a desk-and no two days look exactly the same.

What Does an RBT Do?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) work one-on-one with children with autism under the direction and supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

You might spend part of your day helping a child learn to communicate what they want, practice taking turns, complete a daily routine, tolerate something that is difficult for them, or develop greater independence. Learning may happen at a table, on the floor, through a game, during play, or while practicing everyday activities.

You will follow an individualized treatment plan developed for each child and collect data so the clinical team can evaluate progress and make treatment decisions.

Some days will be exciting and full of successes. Other days will require patience, flexibility, and teamwork. You will not be expected to figure those challenging moments out alone. Our BCBAs and clinical team are there to teach, coach, answer questions, and support you.

Who Are We Looking For?

Experience in ABA is great, and we especially welcome applicants who already hold their RBT certification-but you do not have to be an RBT to apply. We are willing to train the right person.

Compensation & RBT Training

Already RBT Certified?

Certified RBTs start at $22–$24 per hour , based on relevant ABA experience, qualifications, and education.

Not Certified Yet?

We are willing to invest in and train the right person.

Employees hired into our RBT training program receive a $20 per hour training wage while completing the required training, competency assessment, and certification process. Hours during the training and certification period will vary based on scheduled training and other assigned activities and are not guaranteed at 30 hours per week until RBT certification is obtained.

CAS provides the required training and pays for your first RBT certification exam . If an additional exam attempt is needed, the employee is responsible for the exam fee.

Following an unsuccessful exam attempt, CAS will continue to provide reasonable training and support to help prepare the employee for the next attempt. Paid hours during this period will be limited to scheduled training, observation, meetings, and other work assigned by CAS. Independent study and preparation outside of scheduled work hours are not paid.

Once you obtain your RBT certification, your wage increases to $22 per hour, and you become eligible for CAS's 30-hour weekly guarantee.

Because RBT certification is required for the position, employees hired into the training program must successfully obtain their certification within three exam attempts to remain employed in the position.

What You Need to Get Started

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be available Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM–5:30 PM
• Hold an active RBT certification or be willing and able to complete the RBT certification process
• Maintain CPR certification (paid training can be completed after hire)
• Successfully complete required pre-employment screenings
• Meet employment eligibility requirements through E-Verify
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Have a valid driver's license if traveling outside the clinic
• Be dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively

Applicants who are not already RBT certified will receive 40+ hours of paid, on-site training as part of the process of preparing for the RBT competency assessment and certification exam. Training and certification-period hours may vary, with the 30-hour weekly guarantee beginning once RBT certification is obtained.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Working directly with children is an active job. RBTs must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Depending on the needs of the children they serve, the work may include:

• Frequently standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and transitioning between the floor and standing
• Sitting and playing with children on the floor for periods of time
• Moving throughout the clinic and actively participating in play and learning activities
• Using hands and arms to assist with activities, materials, and implementation of treatment programs
• Responding promptly and safely when a child requires assistance or when challenging behavior occurs
• Maintaining awareness of and attending to a child throughout direct therapy sessions
• Working in an active environment that may include noise, movement, and changing levels of activity
