Banquet Server

Banquet Server – USC Hospitality Position Overview The Banquet Server will provide a consistent and professional delivery of customer service and full table service at USC events, supporting faculty, staff, students and guests. Accountabilities Deliver food and beverage service to guests, including taking accurate orders and suggesting menu items. Prepare basic hot and cold food and beverage items according to recipes. Serve food and beverages, checking orders for accuracy before presentation. Maintain presentation standards for all food and beverages. Attend to customers during their dining experience and provide excellent service. Handle service transactions, accepting and processing payments in compliance with cash‑handling policies and university guidelines. Stock and maintain supplies, food, items, and utensils. Assist in set‑up and break‑down of dining rooms and events. Deliver food items to various locations on campus and at offsite catering events. Maintain cleanliness of facilities and assist in kitchen sanitation program. Adhere to food handling, sanitation, health and safety procedures and university rules. Participate in meetings as required and report to station for scheduled work assignments. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Requirements High school diploma not required. At least 1 year of experience in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures. Demonstrated customer service experience. Ability to effectively communicate in English. Minimum age 18 years old. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Professional presentation consistent with a hotel environment. Strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values. Valid California driver’s license; participation in the DMV Pull Notice System required. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years in a high‑volume restaurant operation. Knowledge of craft beers. Experience in a gastropub environment.
