Position Overview

We are seeking two experienced Buyers to join a growing manufacturing operation in Arlington, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to support the expansion of a new U.S. facility specializing in engineered electrical equipment and switchgear solutions used in critical infrastructure, including data centers, energy, transportation, and industrial applications.

The Buyer will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, issuing purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials needed to support manufacturing operations.

This position will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and collaborate with an established purchasing team in Canada. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing procurement, experience working within an ERP system, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily purchasing activities, including creating, issuing, and managing purchase orders (POs) for manufacturing materials and components.
• Procure raw materials, copper, electrical components, and other products required to support manufacturing and production operations.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, accurate orders, and effective communication.
• Respond to vendor inquiries, resolve purchasing discrepancies, and address supply chain concerns.
• Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and material availability to support production timelines.
• Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing transactions, track orders, and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Coordinate with internal manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to understand material requirements and purchasing priorities.
• Collaborate with purchasing teams in Canada to align procurement processes and leverage established vendor relationships.
• Support indirect procurement and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) purchasing as needed.
• Assist with implementing and improving purchasing processes as the facility continues to expand.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, vendor performance, and overall supply chain operations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience purchasing raw materials, components, equipment, or products used in manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience creating and managing purchase orders.
• Proficiency with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or a comparable platform.
• Experience communicating directly with suppliers and managing ongoing vendor relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchasing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and vendor coordination skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and purchasing departments across multiple locations.
• Comfortable working in a developing manufacturing facility undergoing significant growth and expansion.
• Ability to work on-site five days per week once the facility is fully operational.

Preferred Qualifications

• Purchasing experience within electrical equipment, switchgear, industrial machinery, or related manufacturing industries.
• Familiarity with procurement of copper, electrical components, or engineered-to-order manufacturing materials.
• Experience using SAP for purchasing and procurement activities.
• Knowledge of indirect procurement and MRO purchasing.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations during facility expansions or periods of rapid growth.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent professional purchasing or manufacturing procurement experience will also be considered.

Work Environment & Schedule

Location: Arlington, TX

Current Schedule: Hybrid, with approximately three days on-site and two days remote due to ongoing facility construction.

Long-Term Schedule: Fully on-site, five days per week, once the facility is operational.

Hours: Flexible start time, with most employees beginning between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Environment: Growing manufacturing operation with a newly developed facility and expanding supply chain team.

Please Note: The hybrid arrangement is temporary. Candidates must be comfortable transitioning to a fully on-site schedule as the facility continues to develop.
