Team Lead

Position Summary The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for oversight of associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of products in their area in accordance with company service and cost objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Training Responsibilities Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to help achieve established customer demands. Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates. Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, order stacking, and staging of outbound shipments to maximize productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate product counting. Efficiently and accurately load orders onto appropriate doors and trailers. Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions as defined by SOPs. Research and resolve discrepancies that may arise in shipping and receiving processes. Customer Service Maintain professional appearance and communications. Communicate with customers via telephone, email, or in person. Prepare accurate activity reports for site management. Quality Control Responsibilities Use appropriate documentation to ensure products/orders are correctly received, shipped, and accurately picked. Verify products meet quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and perform necessary packaging. Follow SOPs for all quality control functions. Report inconsistencies to Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager. Participate in quality meetings. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance Comply with ISO standards and safety protocols. Promote a safe work environment and maintain warehouse cleanliness. Assist in security of the warehouse and maintain orderly work area. Participate in safety meetings. Labor Management Direct warehouse work team to achieve objectives. Assist associates and temporary labor in productivity tracking and payroll capture. Help Supervisor maintain productive workforce levels. Participate in establishing work schedules and ensuring proper job assignments. Equipment Operation Operate various equipment (sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper, scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, AisleMaster, pallet jack) safely and efficiently. Maintain equipment upkeep, report problems, and perform daily inspections and minor maintenance. Maintain active forklift certification. Maintenance Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Other Duties Perform clerical and administrative tasks as directed (telephones, scheduling, record keeping). Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Compliance and Certifications None. Compensation Expected base pay range is $26.30 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
