Printing VP of Operations

Job Description Leading specialty print provider in MA is searching to hire an Operations Manager. Responsibilities Oversee and manage manufacturing operations from prepress through printing and warehousing and shipping. Manage the production schedule, press equipment maintenance, quality and on-time delivery of printed products meeting and/or exceeding client expectations. Maintain accurate production reports including production output, downtime, and quality metrics. Use KPI's and metrics to improve manufacturing processes where needed. Oversee the set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of printing presses to ensure best performance. Oversee the recruitment, training and supervision of the press crews and technicians. Work with internal dept. managers to ensure accurate supply of raw materials and consumables are on the manufacturing floor, in time for production. Ensure Lean Manufacturing Practices are being upheld in production. Budgetary responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum 7 years' experience in print operations management. Rotogravure a plus. Strong technical understanding of web-fed printing operations. Excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to communicate with senior level management, peers, hourly employees and clients. Proven track record of using Lean Manufacturing Practices to improve processes, reduce waste and down times. Strong problem-solving skills. Comfortable on the manufacturing floor.
