QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • One year computer navigation and computer experience with Microsoft Office products (Word and Outlook) or comparable applications.

  • Typing or keyboarding skills.

  • Promote teamwork through demonstration of a courteous and cooperative attitude to all customers.
PREFERRED:
  • Six months of related medical training, medical terminology or related experience.

  • Previous phlebotomy experience.


PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:

Abilityto sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must possess speech,hearing and sight skills to perform the functions of the position. Manual dexterity required. Must be able to speak, read and writeEnglish proficiently. Some lifting may be required.

POSITIONPURPOSE:

Service excellence is to be centered on patientcare and patient relationships and is the responsibility of allemployees. This individualserves all (internal and external) customers by performing laboratoryprocedures and support functions in accordance with HealthPartnersphilosophy, policies and procedures and in accordance with allregulatory agencies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Collectand process biological specimens with appropriate techniquesfollowing established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

2. Performtesting analysis and verify assay/analyzer performance according toSOP in an efficient cost effective manner. Any combination of thefollowing areas may be included: Phlebotomy, computer operation, EKG,reception, telephones, clerical and designated testing procedures

3. Documentand communicate lab test results thoroughly and accurately accordingto SOP.

4. Performand document maintenance procedures plus maintain adequate supplies.

5. Demonstratecompetency and comply with all regulatory agency policies.

6. Consistentlyimplement and adhere to the laboratory customer service standards. The standards include maintaining confidentiality, promotingteamwork, successful communication and conflict resolution.

7. Respondproactively to stressful circumstances, customer needs anddepartment/clinic changes.

8. Demonstrateprofessional development through participation in continuingeducation, special projects and community / corporate / professionalorganizations. Demonstrate personal development throughdependability, professional appearance and cooperative attitude.

9. Performother dutiesas assigned.
