Senior Commercial Relationship Manager

Citi is looking for a Senior Commercial Relationship Manager to focus on the origination and growth of an existing portfolio of commercial clients across the consumer products and services, industrials, and business and professional services sectors. In this senior individual contributor role, you will be instrumental in building Citi's commercial banking presence identifying and converting target market prospects into new client relationships, while also deepening and expanding existing ones. Your ability to win new business, structure sophisticated financial solutions, and coordinate cross-functional teams will directly shape Citi's commercial banking growth across clients with revenues typically ranging from $20MM and up to $250MM, with a particular focus on companies operating globally or pursuing international expansion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a disciplined target market plan, identifying and prioritising prospective commercial clients across diversified service sectors and converting those prospects into new, full-wallet banking relationships for Citi.
• Originate and onboard new client relationships where Citi serves as the primary banking partner, taking ownership of the full sales cycle from initial outreach and pitch through to mandate, onboarding, and activation.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial clients, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted financial advisor for each relationship.
• Build and deepen client relationships through proactive outreach, identifying emerging needs, anticipating challenges, and delivering tailored, multi-product solutions that grow share of wallet.
• Structure and execute complex credit transactions, including global deals, by coordinating product specialists and subject matter experts to deliver customised outcomes aligned to each client's strategy.
• Lead the end-to-end credit relationship for assigned clients, overseeing the full credit process from origination through approval and ongoing monitoring in line with institutional credit standards.
• Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities by engaging the right internal specialists, deepening client engagement and expanding the breadth of Citi's solutions within each relationship.
• Share timely market insights, sector trends, and economic intelligence with clients and prospects to strengthen Citi's position as a strategic partner and support new business development.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 10 or more years of experience in commercial banking, corporate finance, or a related client-facing financial services role.
• Demonstrated ability to build a target market pipeline and convert prospects into primary banking relationships, with a track record of winning new-to-bank mandates.
• Advanced credit structuring capability, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex and cross-border transactions through full approval processes.
• Expert-level early warning detection skills, with the ability to proactively identify and manage credit risk within a large and varied client portfolio.
• Deep knowledge of banking and investment products, with a consistent record of delivering sound financial advice and solutions to commercial clients.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills, with experience engaging senior-level clients and internal teams simultaneously.
• Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams under pressure, maintaining clear priorities and delivering high-quality client outcomes in fast-moving environments.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience advising clients with international operations or cross-border growth ambitions within the $20M$250M revenue segment.
• Established professional network within the consumer products, industrials, or business and professional services sectors that can support early pipeline development.
• Familiarity with global transaction structures and multi-jurisdictional credit processes.
