Relay Technician

Relay Technician - Switchgear, SEL Relays, SCADA, Transformers, Commissioning This role involves testing, commissioning, calibrating, and maintaining protective relays and related systems in substations, power plants, and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with electromechanical and microprocessor-based relays and be familiar with industry standards such as IEEE, NETA, and NFPA Duties and Responsibilities: Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, relaying schemes, DFR equipment, SCADA systems, distribution automation systems and associated communication equipment. Work with electrical engineers to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues. Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panels, transformers & circuit breaker changeouts Skills: Strong knowledge of protection schemes for transmission, distribution, and generation. Proficiency in using relay test sets (e.g., Doble, Omicron, Manta). Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and relay logic. Familiarity with NETA standards and testing procedures. Qualifications: 3+ years of hands-on experience with relay testing and commissioning.
