Truck Driver Home Daily Class C

Ryder is hiring a Class C Truck Driver in Lockport, IL offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Average weekly pay: $1100

Hours per week: 48 hours per week

Paid training

Schedule: Monday Friday

Start time: 5:30 AM dispatch

Deliver solo: IL, IN, MI

Route: Dedicated home daily

Tractor type: Straight truck

Trailer type: 20-26' straight trucks

Equipment: Pallet jack and liftgate

Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful

Freight: Touch Auto parts

Ryder drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

Requirements:

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck):
• 6 months experience in the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Notice to applicants holding a CDL: This position does not require the operation of CDL-regulated equipment. However, candidates who possess a valid commercial drivers license will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment drug and alcohol clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities:

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
