Infection Preventionist - LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking to hire an Infection Preventionist Nurse - LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse

• $86K to $96K annually based on circumstances including skills, qualifications, degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. 

Infection Preventionist Nurse - LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse Qualifications:

• Current LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology or Certification of the completion of the “Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course” by CDC.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Long-Term Care.
• Current CPR certification. 

Infection Preventionist Nurse - LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Job Summary:

• Develop, implement and evaluate the St. Patrick’s Residence infection prevention program.
• Develop an annual surveillance plan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data.
• Utilize epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance and investigation.
• Develop, interpret and assist with implementation of infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
• Provide leadership, supervision and educational principles on infection prevention and control for staff.
• Make daily rounds throughout the facility to assure that personnel are performing infection prevention practices.
• Participate in the assessment and selection of residents to the facility related to infection prevention and control.
• Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs for all nursing home staff based on resident needs and to include all mandated and necessary training and education for the safe and effective operation of the home.
• Ensure all staff have access to Relias for orientation and on-going training, recordkeeping and notification re issues of non-compliance.
• Provide hands on nursing care as necessary, as directed and allowed based on IP’s scope of licensure.
