The primary responsibility of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant I (COTA) is to provide direct patient care under the direction of a qualified occupational therapist upon physician referral. Required Skills Ability to perform patient care, utilizing correct body mechanics. Competent to treat a variety of diagnoses who may be infants, children, adults or older adults. Basic splinting skills.
