Production Supervisor

Job Title: Production Supervisor Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operating workers. The role requires flexibility to cover various shifts.
Responsibilities

• Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Review operations and collaborate with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing issues.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems to analyze and detect production problems.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, addressing personal grievances.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of supervision/leadership experience in a union, production environment, and people leading.
• High-level analytical ability with 1-3 years of experience.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with 1-3 years of experience.
• Proven leadership skills with less than 1 year of experience.
• Technical proficiency in data acquisition and manufacturing processes with 1-3 years of experience.
• Math skills with 1-3 years of experience.
• Shift flexibility and willingness to work weekends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's degree is preferred.
• Union experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and distribution techniques.
• Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• High school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience is required.
• UAW supervision experience is advantageous.
• OEM experience is preferred.

Work Environment
The candidate must be flexible to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays and Sundays. Specific shift times are: 1st Shift (6:30 AM 2:30 PM), 2nd Shift (2:30 PM 10:30 PM), 3rd Shift (10:30 PM 6:30 AM). Candidates should arrive 30 minutes prior to their shift start time. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring adaptability and strong time management skills.

This is a Contract position based out of Romulus, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
