Sugar Grove Senior Living , part of Vista Senior Living Management, is seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. If you enjoy preparing nutritious, delicious meals while making a positive impact in the lives of seniors, we'd love to meet you.

Position: Cook (Full-time)

Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and kitchen standards. This role works closely with the dining services team to provide an exceptional dining experience that supports resident health and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes.
• Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and completing other food preparation tasks.
• Cook food using a variety of methods, including baking, grilling, roasting, and boiling.
• Ensure meals are presented attractively and served at the proper temperature.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Properly store food, supplies, and ingredients.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs.
• Work collaboratively with the dining services team to provide excellent service to residents.

Qualifications:

• Experience preparing meals in large quantities.
• Previous experience in an Assisted Living, Memory Care, skilled nursing, or other healthcare setting preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures.
• Passionate about serving seniors through quality food and hospitality.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical demands of a commercial kitchen.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
