Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dental Hygienist role based in Edgewater, MD. The Dental Hygienist will perform routine preventive care, including dental cleanings, periodontal therapy, scaling and root planing, polishing, and application of preventive treatments such as sealants and fluoride. The role involves conducting thorough patient assessments, charting conditions of the teeth and gums, taking and reviewing dental radiographs, and assisting in the development of individualized care plans. The Dental Hygienist will educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, home care routines, and overall oral health, while promoting a positive, comfortable experience. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, adhering to infection control and sterilization protocols, collaborating closely with dentists and support staff, and contributing to an organized, patient-centered office flow. Qualifications Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist in Maryland and completion of an accredited dental hygiene program. Proficiency in preventive and periodontal procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, periodontal charting, and application of sealants and fluoride. Experience with dental radiography, digital imaging, and electronic dental records or practice management software. Strong patient education skills, with the ability to explain oral hygiene practices, treatment recommendations, and preventive care in clear, supportive language. Demonstrated commitment to infection control, sterilization standards, and clinical safety protocols. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities, with a focus on providing respectful, inclusive, and compassionate patient care. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a clinical schedule efficiently and maintain accurate documentation. CPR/BLS certification required; prior experience in a general or family dental practice is preferred. Interest or experience in aesthetic and restorative procedures (e.g., implant restorations, crowns, veneers, whitening, dentures) is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
