Maintenance TechnicianEssential Job Functions:Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies.Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions.Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment.Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders.Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.Assist in training other maintenance personnel.Communicate with production during periods of downtime.Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.Required Skills:Knowledge of GMPs.Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.Good decision making/problem solving skills.Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.Competencies:Decisive, pro-active, self-motivated, and assertive.Strong interpersonal and developed communication skills.Data analysis and identification of trends.Internal customer focus with the ability to adapt to the variable demands of the business.Ability to demonstrate working under initiative and think things through to solution.Ability to work under own supervision.Education and Experience:High school degree or equivalent.Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.Working Conditions:Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.Travel Requirements:May be minimal travel required as needed for training.Physical Requirements:R = Rarely (0-15%) O = Occasionally (16-45%) F = Frequently (46-100%)Physical Demand - R - O - FStand or Sit - XStoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl - XLifting 50 lbs.
