About the Position

• Assist the surgical team during operative and diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the sterile and aseptic field throughout procedures.
• Prepare, organize, and provide surgical instruments and supplies as needed.
• Apply knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and surgical technology.
• Follow AORN standards and established facility protocols.
• Inspect sterile supplies and instruments for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seals, indicators, and expiration dates.
• Ensure the OR environment and equipment are safe and functioning properly.
• Monitor the sterile field and identify potential contamination or safety concerns.
• Assist with Tier 1 surgical cases and continue developing competency with applicable procedures.
• Participate fully in the surgical Time Out, Briefing, and Debriefing processes.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist program.
• Current Colorado Surgical Technologist license required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Experience working in an Operating Room/Surgical setting .
• Knowledge and competency in sterile and aseptic technique .
