Audit Manager

Advance your public accounting career as an Audit Manager at Castro & Co, where you will work closely with client leadership to address audit challenges and deliver meaningful business and process improvements. In this role, you will lead complex audit and attestation engagements across a diverse client base while mentoring staff and providing technical guidance. You will also collaborate with senior leadership to support firm growth. This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment. What will you do in this role: Lead a team in performing audits or attestation engagements Interact with key client management to gather information, resolve examination-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements Analysis and develop recommendations in accordance with Yellow Book requirements for improving compliance, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability Assist with business development activities of the firm Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive test plan designed to achieve identified objectives Manage and supervise the execution of complex examinations Manage project resources, status reports, and related project management tasks Develop audit and examination reports to present findings with recommendations Meet or exceed targeted billing hours and monitor the budget to ensure that work is completed on time and within the budget Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field Minimum of 5 years audit experience Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA Required) Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) audit experience preferred Audit experience (financial, performance, grants, and contract audits) Exceptional client service and oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships Ability to manage, lead, and inspire a team Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Security Clearance: Must be able to pass a basic government suitability check (US Citizenship mandatory) Serving Federal Government clients, Castro & Company is a dedicated Audit, Advisory and Information Technology firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. Final compensation will be determined based on a range of factors, including relevant experience, education, work location, security clearance level, certifications, and other factors permitted by applicable law. Salary ranges listed reflect the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
