Medical Laboratory Specialist

The Senior Blood Bank Medical Laboratory Scientist supports transfusion medicine through advanced blood bank testing, antibody identification, patient investigations, and donor services. Responsibilities include performing and interpreting serological tests, investigating complex antibody cases, maintaining consultation reports, and ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance. They serve as a technical resource for hospitals, physicians, and healthcare partners, communicating test results and managing blood product orders. Additional duties involve assisting with mobile donor collections, conducting donor screening and blood collection, providing post-donation support, and creating positive donor experiences. The role includes operational support such as acting as Shift Coordinator, participating in an on-call rotation, and mentoring staff. Qualifications require laboratory expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
