Speech & Language Therapist, Rehabilitation, Full Time, Day

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide quality goal directed Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning to patients in a variety of age groups with cognitive, communication and/or swallowing disabilities.

EDUCATION

Graduation from a speech therapy accredited program with a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences, Communication Disorders or related areas.

EXPERIENCE

At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital, nursing home, school situation, or rehabilitation facility in the field of speech therapy. Some home care experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Current certification by the American Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ASHA) in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent. Maintains current state of New Jersey license in Speech-Language Pathology. May be a CFY candidate. Current and valid CPR certification. Ability to perform work accurately and give attention to details. Ability to use effective critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities and perform job-related responsibilities. Ability to communicate and interact with the health-system, patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to function competently in a changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Driver's License - current and valid driver's license, registration, inspection sticker and appropriate level of insurance coverage required, to include collision.
