Title: Medical Secretary C - Anticoagulation Center - Danbury, CT- Part time - Monday-Friday 8:30am -12:30pm

Summary:

Provides clerical support and maintains an efficiently run department. Enters complete billing information on time for prompt reimbursement from insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Enters patient demographic information into registration system, making sure all information is entered for billing purposes.
• 2. Performs reception duties and forwards phone calls to the appropriate party.
• 3. Answers phones by 4th ring using department greeting, records complete messages or sends task to appropriate person in a timely manner.
• 4. Obtains medical records and labs on new patients. Updates information on registration system.
• 5. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• 6. Schedules patient follow-up appointments and testing as ordered by providers at time of check-out.
• 7. Performs orders reconciliation for tests, x-rays, etc. for patients as they come due.
• 8. Demonstrates the ability to use office equipment.
• 9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• 10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Skills Experience:

• Required: Data entry and MS Word required.
• Minimum Experience: three years
• Desired: Knowledge of insurance and ICD9 coding
