Travel RN - Medical ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency. Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required Epic EMR experience required Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted Responsibilities Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of an academic medical center hospital Patient population includes complex multisystem cases such as multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, renal failure, and COVID-19 Patient ratios of 1:1–2 Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week), with both day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:30–7:30) shifts available No on-call responsibilities Specialized procedures include continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and use of externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients Equipment used includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, GE ventilators, and boom lifts in patient rooms Epic EMR is used; experience is required Previous travel nursing experience is preferred Local candidates are accepted Former employees of the facility are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract period Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position; candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet upon receipt Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
