Heywood Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide safe and efficient perioperative care while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care and monitor patient safety.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic technique.
• Verify patient identification, consent, procedure, and surgical site.
• Prepare and manage surgical supplies and equipment.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Handle and document surgical specimens appropriately.
• Assist with patient positioning and transfers.
• Administer medications/IV therapy and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active Massachusetts RN License required.
• Previous OR nursing experience strongly preferred.
• CNOR strongly preferred.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required upon hire or within 60 days with AHA.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
