We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the most talented team in the Creator Economy and are looking for a Software Engineerto support our mission.This role is based in SFand open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.About the TeamAs a Staff Backend Platform Software Engineer at Patreon, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our creator membership platform. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers to build and maintain reliable, efficient systems that support Patreon's growth.About the RoleYour responsibilities will include:Designing and implementing backend systems that handle millions of requests per dayWriting efficient, scalable, and maintainable codeIdentifying and addressing performance bottlenecksBuilding robust APIs that support our web and mobile applicationsCollaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features on timeWhat you'll need8+ years of experience in backend software engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experienceStrong experience with Python or a similar languageStrong understanding of software design patterns and principlesExperience with relational databases (such as PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (such as Redis)Experience with container orchestration (such as Kubernetes)Strong understanding of RESTful API design and developmentWrites clearly for technical and non-technical audiences, and collaborates effectively across engineering and product teams to scope and ship featuresFamiliarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practicesBachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalentWe hire talented and passionate people from different backgrounds because workplace diversity and inclusion is critical to our ability to serve creators worldwide.
