About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer with strong Python programming, Linux scripting, and full-stack development capabilities. The successful candidate will contribute to backend services, cloud infrastructure, frontend applications, cross-platform mobile applications, and embedded-device integrations. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across multiple technologies, collaborating with electrical and firmware engineers, and taking ownership of software that supports real-world safety systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and web applications.
- Develop Python applications, automation scripts, and Linux-based utilities.
- Work with Linux environments for application execution, scripting, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- Develop frontend interfaces, web integrations, and e-commerce functionality.
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure and remote monitoring platforms.
- Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android.
- Collaborate with embedded and electrical engineers on firmware integration.
- Support software connectivity with sensors, controllers, and industrial IoT devices.
- Troubleshoot application, device-integration, and system-level issues.
- Implement secure coding practices and improve application reliability.
- Use modern engineering tools, including Generative AI-assisted development.
- Participate in software design, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Qualifications
- Position: Mid-Career / Senior Software Engineer
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on Python programming and scripting experience.
- Solid Linux experience, including scripting and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Java, C, and/or C++.
- Strong understanding of full-stack software development.
- Knowledge of backend services, frontend applications, APIs, and web integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Interest in mobile application development for iOS and Android.
- Interest in embedded systems, firmware integration, and Industrial IoT.
- Understanding of secure coding practices.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Willingness to work onsite in Torrington, Connecticut, with potential hybrid flexibility after 12 months.

Pay range and compensation package
