Step into a vital role nurturing the personal and academic growth of middle and high school students through specialized instruction and case management. This full-time, in-person contract position is ideal for an experienced special education professional passionate about life skills curricula and student-centered advocacy. The assignment supports students for the 2026–2027 academic year.

In this pivotal capacity, you’ll teach four Life Skills classes as well as an 8th-grade Learning Lab focused on specially designed instruction (SDI). You’ll collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff to ensure individualized education plan (IEP) goals are not only met, but exceeded. Your expertise and compassion will guide students with diverse abilities toward greater independence and self-confidence.

Qualifications that will set you up for success:

• Valid special education teaching certification
• Prior experience teaching middle or high school students in a special education setting
• Familiarity with Life Skills curriculum and adaptive learning strategies
• Strong organizational skills and attention to deadlines for IEP documentation
• Demonstrated competency in managing caseloads and leading IEP meetings
• Effective communicator with students, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging instruction in Life Skills and SDI-based Learning Lab environments
• Developing individualized lesson plans and adapting materials to student needs
• Serving as case manager for assigned students, including IEP development and progress monitoring
• Collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to implement student supports
• Providing guidance and encouragement to foster social, emotional, and academic growth
