Type of Employment: Full Time/Part Time - Wage: $19 per hour

 

JOB SUMMARY:

To turn over rooms and cabins daily and prepare for new clients. Clean and prepare rooms for guest arrivals. Assist with the general cleaning of the lodge and other areas of the property as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay by working with all hotel personnel to ensure superior customer care.

· Clean guest rooms and Cottages to ensure highest standards of cleanliness and service.

· Responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling guests’ requests.

· Ensures the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms and Cottages.

· Be familiar with all hotel services to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, services, procedures, and standards.

· Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Must lock and secure all laundry facilities, cleaning agents and housekeeping tools nightly.

· Refer to separate document posted in the housekeeping area for daily to-do lists.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Housekeeping experience preferred.

· Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis.

· Must be able to lift, bend and stand for long periods of time.

· Flexible schedule (must be able to work weekends and holidays).

· Reliable and dependable transportation.

· Must be a fast-paced worker and able to work alone, as well as work well with others.

· Multi-tasking skills.

· Must be able to work in varied work and weather environments.

 

PHYSICAL ABILITY - THE EMPLOYEE MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO:

· Ability to work a minimum of 25-40 hours per week.

· Be exposed to cold or hot temperature extremes in the walk-in cooler, freezer and/or outdoors.

· Bend at waist with some twisting, stand, stoop and/or walk for an entire shift.

· Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands continuously throughout the day. (This requires eye-hand coordination, and may occasionally require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs).

· Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (to replenish fountain syrups, ice, etc.).

· Routinely lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (stocking/maintaining inventory levels on the shelves, in the cooler and freezer, etc.).

· Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (utilizing a hand-truck, sweep and mop the floors, etc.).
