Job Opportunity

Shift: Nights 7 PM - 7 AM

We are seeking qualified candidates for a nursing position in the Emergency Psych Services department. This role is integral to the patient care team and involves both direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care.
Evaluate patient outcomes and identify available resources for patients.
Provide direct patient care in a crisis psychiatric setting for patients aged 5 and up.
Work with patients experiencing a range of psychiatric illnesses including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, and psychotic disorders.
Manage patients requiring detoxification and other medical care as needed.
Participate in charge or preceptor roles as required.

Job Requirements:

Education: 2-Year Associate's degree required.
Valid State of Maine RN license.
BLS Certification is required.
CPI training must be current prior to starting the position.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health nursing is required.
Skills:
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong team player with the ability to manage stress effectively.
- Decision-making capability under pressure.
- Flexibility to provide coverage 24/7 as needed.

Additional Information:

Registered Nurses are required to wear maroon scrubs as part of the dress code policy.
Extra hours beyond contract are available but not guaranteed.
12-hour orientation shifts are provided to familiarize with departmental procedures (unpaid).
The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
Position is open to candidates residing outside of a 50-mile radius.
