Our organization is currently looking for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist with a specialization in Cardiac Electrophysiology to become part of our dynamic team at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana . We invite interested candidates to join a skilled and collaborative group of physicians dedicated to excellence in patient care.

The ideal candidate will prioritize clinical quality, possess expertise in electrophysiology procedures, and demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with a desire to foster strong relationships within the community and among existing medical staff. The selected physician will collaborate effectively with all team members in our Cardiology service line to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
  • Work in a highly regarded and successful single-hospital setting with no travel required.
  • Engage in an academic environment that includes an active family medicine residency program, providing opportunities for resident teaching.
  • Enjoy an employed position through our health system, where physician autonomy is encouraged, allowing for independent decision-making regarding policy and recruitment.
  • Access to state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs located within a minute's walk from the clinic.
  • Utilize a hybrid lab designed for structural heart procedures.
  • Receive support from senior cardiologists, including those in the interventional cardiology program.
  • Participate in an active cardio-thoracic program with 24/7 coverage available for your procedures.
  • Clinic hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with a general cardiology call rotation of 1:6.
  • Average outpatient volume of 18 - 20 patients per day.
  • Excellent electrophysiology case volume, joining a collegial team with a robust patient base that refers exclusively to in-house electrophysiologists.
  • Support from nurse practitioners for both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Additional nursing and medical assistant support available at the clinic.
  • Access to advanced labs, including:
    • Biosense Webster Cartosound Mapping system with GE recording capabilities, enabling cryoballoon ablations.
PROCEDURES:
  • Permanent Pacemaker implants
  • Pacemaker Lead extractions (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Leadless Pacemaker implants
  • ICD & CRT-D implants
  • Ablations for Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, SVT, and VT Cryoablation
  • Convergent procedures in partnership with cardiovascular surgeons.
  • Involvement in structural heart procedures, including participation in the active Watchman left atrial appendage closure program alongside interventional cardiologists.
