THE OPPORTUNITY

Triad Electrical Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our growing field team. This position is designed for electricians with strong industrial construction experience who are comfortable working with rigid conduit systems, cable tray, power distribution, controls, and demanding field installations.

This is not a traditional residential or commercial electrical role. Our projects include municipal infrastructure, movable bridges, pump stations, roadway systems, industrial facilities, and shipyard facility work throughout Hampton Roads and Central Virginia.

The ideal candidate understands how to plan and execute industrial conduit installations efficiently, safely, and accurately while minimizing material waste and rework.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Install industrial electrical systems, equipment, lighting, controls, raceways, conductors, and power distribution components.
• Install and work extensively with rigid conduit systems, including PVC-coated rigid conduit and aluminum rigid conduit.
• Install cable tray systems and associated conductors and supports.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduit using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Plan conduit routes before fabrication to ensure threaded systems can be installed correctly and efficiently.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, electrical plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
• Perform electrical installations in accordance with project specifications, applicable electrical codes, and Triad quality standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify installation or field-condition issues.
• Use electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and related test instruments.
• Identify constructability issues and communicate field conditions to foremen and project management.
• Coordinate effectively with foremen, apprentices, project managers, and other trades.
• Mentor and assist less-experienced electricians and apprentices when appropriate.
• Maintain organized, safe, and productive work areas.
• Protect installed work, materials, tools, and equipment from damage or unnecessary waste.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical construction experience.
• Strong industrial electrical construction experience.
• Demonstrated experience installing rigid conduit systems.
• Experience measuring, bending, cutting, threading, and assembling conduit.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Understanding of common industrial electrical voltages and systems.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout Hampton Roads, Richmond, Chesterfield, Hopewell, and surrounding Virginia markets as assigned.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work at heights and from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of electrical construction work while using required PPE. 
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and teamwork.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7 or more years of progressive industrial electrical experience.
• Active Journeyman Electrician License.
• Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program or technical trade program.
• Experience with PVC-coated rigid conduit.
• Experience with aluminum rigid conduit.
• Experience with cable tray systems.
• Experience on roadway, bridge, municipal, pump station, heavy industrial, or shipyard facility projects.
• Experience working with apprentices or less-experienced electricians.
• Experience performing layout and planning work before installation.
• High School Diploma or GED.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

A successful Industrial Electrician at Triad can do more than carry an electrician title.
