Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

• Rotating D/E/N shift schedules
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• On-Call and callback responsibilities as per unit needs

Position Overview

The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care for patients under the age of 19 with urgent and emergent healthcare needs. This unit operates at a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center and encompasses 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a 7-bed trauma bay shared with the adult emergency department. The complexity of cases seen here ranges from treat-and-release to critical care and trauma, requiring staff to be adept in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Qualifications

Required:

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• PALS certification from the AHA
• ACLS certification from the AHA
• Two years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience
• Current New York RN license
• NIHSS certification

Preferred:

• Burn care experience
• TNCC certification
• ATCN certification
• ABLS certification
