Oncology Nurse Navigator – Outpatient Oncology

Position: Oncology Nurse Navigator
Setting: New Outpatient Oncology Program

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Navigator to support its new outpatient oncology program. The RN will coordinate and manage patient care from diagnosis through treatment , serving as a key point of contact for patients, families, providers, and the oncology care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care throughout the oncology treatment journey.
• Support patients from initial diagnosis through treatment and follow-up .
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education.
• Assist with treatment planning, scheduling, referrals, and care coordination.
• Collaborate closely with:
  • Oncology providers
  • Pharmacy
  • Infusion staff
  • Ancillary departments
  • Other members of the multidisciplinary care team
• Provide ongoing patient support and help identify barriers to care.
• Occasional chemotherapy infusions may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Oregon RN license or ability to obtain prior to start.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certification – REQUIRED.
• Previous oncology patient navigation or care coordination experience – REQUIRED.
• Oncology infusion experience – REQUIRED.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent patient education and care coordination abilities.

Preferred Experience

• EPIC Beacon experience preferred.
• Experience working in an outpatient oncology/infusion setting.
• Experience coordinating complex oncology treatment plans.
