Athletic Trainer - SC Update High Schools (Non-teaching)

Performance 360 Consulting is partnering with Prisma Health in the recruitment of multiple full-time Certified Athletic Trainers serving high schools in South Carolina. New graduates and more experienced practitioners are welcome and remuneration is adjusted according to years of certified experience. Overview of this Role Certified Athletic Trainers are vital service providers to high schools in both the Upstate and the Midlands regions of South Carolina. Beyond standard AT qualifications (BOC certified, state licensure by hire date, strong technical skills, etc.), successful Prisma Athletic Trainers are good teammates, excellent communicators, and immerse themselves fully in the community. Available Full-time Positions Potential locations/schools in the Upstate region include: Boiling Springs HS (5A) Mauldin HS (5A) Riverside HS (4A) Travelers Rest (4A) Related positions in the Midlands/Columbia region of South Carolina are also available: Mid-Carolina (2A) Role / Schedule Specifics All positions are NON-TEACHING, allowing focus on student athlete / team service primarily on weekday afternoons and evenings during the school year With 2-4 FT Prisma ATs at each school, evening and weekend duties can be rotated to allow for a healthier work-life balance/rhythm Summer schedules typically shift to earlier in the day and are more flexible No clinic / other coverage hours are required during quieter periods of the year except for teammates covering for teammates on vacation, etc. Additional earning opportunities (~ $45 p/h) through PRN coverage: Tournaments, special events, etc. outside of normal duties About Prisma Health Athletic Training Outreach Being part of the larger Prisma team widens resources available and helps mitigate the feeling of “being on an island” (often common in HS / NCAA) Prisma teammates cover for each other – allowing staff to say yes to more things outside of work and be there for family as part of a healthier work-life rhythm Facilitates shared learning and enhances formal professional development While none of the current positions available are supervisory, multiple levels of seniority exist within Prisma; facilitating mentorship, future career advancement, and earning potential The depth and breadth of Prisma also allows for career transitions within healthcare that may be beneficial to individuals as they navigate various career and family/life events Midlands / Columbia, South Carolina

Required Qualifications Education - Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training OR Physical Education w/ Athletic Training emphasis. Master's degree preferred. BLS required. SC LLR Licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required by the start of work. BOC (Board of Certification) for Athletic Training required. Select essential functions include but are not limited to the following All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Provides athletic training services to athletes at appointed high school and any other assigned school(s) or site as required. Utilizes appropriate, sound and up-to-date clinical techniques to effectively assess and treat athletic injuries. Demonstrates basic knowledge of diagnosis/conditions seen in the profession of Athletic Training. Selects, performs and interprets the results of ATC examinations of appropriate systems. Performs and interprets standardized assessments as determined by appropriateness of athlete. Identifies actual or potential problems that would impact the Athletic Training regimen as well as the overall inter-disciplinary care. Establishes specific treatment plan and goals based on the result of the initial assessment considering all aspects of athlete's condition: age, education level, cultural background and/or any other services the athlete is receiving. Communicates with appropriate members including physicians, rehab, parent/guardian, athletic directors, coaches, strength coaches. Documents athlete status in designated EMR or equivalent. Provides timely payroll information. Provides oversight and mentoring to new team members, Graduate Assistants, students. Completes annual mandatory computer-based training, competency review and required employee health testing. Represent organization as outreach team member. Attends coaches/parent meetings as available. Provides athletic training services at sponsored sporting events (Special Events). Seeks related tasks in down time and performs other duties as assigned. Supplemental hospital staffing in times of need. Coordinates pre- and post-participation exams and acquires protective equipment for athletes as needed. Maintains confidentiality of patient information. Comply with any and all policies regarding healthcare delivery as indicated and outlined within the Athletic Injury Management section of assigned school or school district.
