Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: ICU background experience managing critically ill patients Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the ICU department. The unit has 12 beds with patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1 for downgraded patients. A unit secretary will be available for the critical care area. Rooms are monitored and private, equipped with Alaris IV pumps and respiratory ventilators. Documentation is done using MediTech Expanse. The position requires working every other weekend. Floating is voluntary based on the expertise of the area. Patients may present with cardiac issues, respiratory conditions, DKA, or sepsis. Advanced skills such as vital signs monitoring, A-Line monitoring, insulin drips, and sedation and vasopressor drips are needed. There are no additional certifications required beyond BLS and ACLS. The required uniform is navy blue nurse scrubs. Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided upon employment. The facility is a 231-bed acute care center. It offers a variety of medical care, specializing in emergency care, imaging, mental health, and pulmonary medicine. Staff report a caring and compassionate culture, with supportive management.
