Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma and Stroke unit requiring Epic experience and FL or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma and Stroke unit
• Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating as needed
• No block scheduling requests permitted
• Must work 23 major holidays (eve and day)

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients
• Trauma and Neuro ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Degree from an accredited school, or a degree approved by FBON plus 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Charge RN and Neuro ICU experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to trauma, stroke, and neuro ICU patients
• Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
• Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment, with a retake available within 24 hours if needed
• Smoke-free facility
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered at a lower pay rate
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
