Locum NP/PA Opportunity at North Memorial Health

North Memorial Health is seeking a locum NP/PA for dates of coverage from May to July. The position involves up to full-time work in a trauma hospitalist role, with potential for intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures. Candidates with surgical and trauma critical care experience are preferred. The call ratio is no call, with in-house only coverage. The average number of patients per day ranges from 10-14 admitted patients, with 6 in the ICU, and 2-15 in the ED per 24 hours. The documentation system is EPIC, and the trauma level is designated as a Level I adult, caring for pediatrics as well. The APP will be working autonomously, with a trauma surgeon available 24-hour per day. The patient age demographic spans 0-100+, primarily adults and adolescents.

Required procedures include non-invasive vent management, ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line, arterial line, and suturing minor lacerations. The APP is also required to respond to ED trauma alerts, facilitate discharges, manage ER admissions, and perform daily rounding and management of all conditions.

Additional responsibilities include adherence to guidelines and non-clinical expectations for tracking. North Memorial does not reimburse for credentialing costs or application fees.

Submission requirements include board certification (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C), no FNPs, only Acute Care NP or PA, MN license at time of name clear, ATLS, PALS, ACLS, NOC shift 7p-7:30a, local candidate preference, DEA, self-query NPDB report within the same month as submission, and a minimum of 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting, preferably with trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics.

Certification requirements include ACLS, ATLS, board certification, and PALS. State license requirements are specific to Minnesota.
