Gate Serve Transportation Supervisor

Supervise drivers and driver assistants. Check dock area to ensure employees have required equipment and that trucks leave according to scheduled dock departure. Ensure all teams are catering correct aircraft and flights. Ensure all employees are in compliance with safety procedures and Airport Transport Authority badge requirements. Assist teams with late flights and equipment changes. Get information from airlines on service requirements and updates. Maintain radio contact with Operations Manager and leads during operation. Conduct regular checks of the supply stations on AOA. Manage security and proper transportation of products, airline equipment and maintaining cleanliness of vehicles. Train and monitor employees on proper work procedures to ensure maximum productivity and security with minimum labor and food costs. Maintain all financial goals related to productivity, overtime, and labor goals. Work with management staff to improve performance of the unit. Responsible for performance evaluation, coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees and liaise appropriately with HR and other support functions. Manage work flow balancing – the division of responsibilities amongst employees on each shift. Manage daily manpower planning including assignment of responsibilities and workstations. Determine when and whether to call employees in to cover staffing needs (e.g., sick calls, vacation relief, medical leaves, volume changes, etc.). In conjunction with department leaders determine number of employees needed by shift. Responsible for employee retention and monitor employee turnover. Prepare administrative reports as required. Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or degree from a 4‑year university or college preferred. Work Experience A valid driver’s license. Ability to pass a DMV verification process. Clean driving record that does not contain moving violations or accidents. Minimum 3 years of experience working as a delivery driver and/or in a customer service capacity required. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, and restaurant or catering environment or equivalent experience in the related field preferred. Experience working in the airline industry preferred. Ability to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed. Technical Skills A valid driver’s license. Must comply with company policies. Ability to obtain Airport Transport Authority badge required. Ability to obtain Customs Seal for Airport Transport Authority badge required. Language / Communication Skills Expresses oneself clearly and effectively when speaking and writing to individuals and groups; listening attentively and ensuring communication is understood by all parties involved. Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish/Chinese Mandarin/Vietnamese/Hindi or Polish is a plus.
