At Clinton Manor Living Center, their mission is to passionately support each person in living a meaningful and satisfying life!Clinton Manor provides long-term care with skilled nursing that accommodates seniors or individuals with high medical needs. A team of highly-skilled RN's, LPN's and Certified Nurse Assistants support residents recuperating from surgery, stroke or illness. Clinton Manor also specializes in assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals (also known as DSPs) provide hands-on, person-centered, direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities whom reside with us.We have now extended out therapy department and looking to find quality candidates to fill supporting roles within this department.The Physical Therapist Assistant provides skilled physical therapy interventions to residents in a skilled nursing facility under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA implements individualized treatment plans, documents resident progress, and helps residents achieve their highest level of function and independence.This is a PRN position and will fill in as neededClinton Manor's full benefits listing: -list/ Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesImplement physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility activitiesAssist with resident screenings and collect data on resident response to treatment for the supervising PT's reviewEducate residents and families on therapeutic exercises, use of assistive devices (walkers, canes, wheelchairs), and techniques to maintain therapy progress at homeCommunicate resident progress, concerns, and changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team promptlyDocument all therapy services accurately and timely in accordance with facility policy and payer/regulatory requirementsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment and follow established infection control and safety proceduresMaintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA and resident rights standardsParticipate in facility orientation, in-service training, and continuing education required to maintain IicensureEducation, Certification & Licensure RequirementsAssociate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant programSuccessful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination for PTAs (NPTE-PTA)Current, unrestricted state license or certification as a Physical Therapist AssistantContinuing education as required by the state licensing board to maintain licensure (commonly around 20 hours per renewal cycle; requirements vary by state)Experience & Preferred SkillsExperience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferredStrong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skillsAttention to detail and commitment to high-quality, compassionate resident careAbility to work under general supervision while exercising sound clinical judgment within scope of practiceEOE
