Job Title
Qualifications: ELS-PARA license at minimum
Job Goal: To provide a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Aid in checking, correcting and monitoring of students in the completion of their work.
- Assist students in mainstream classes.
- Reinforce behavior, study skills, and class routine established by the teacher.
- Assists students with snack, lunch and clean up routines.
- Assists with supervision during emergency drills, assemblies, recess, bus duty, and field trips.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
- Treat students as individuals, taking special consideration of each individual needs and potential.
- Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Terms of Employment: Nine-month year. Educational Support Personnel. Salary to be established by the Board.
