Make a meaningful impact in a supportive middle school environment as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Special Day Class (SDC) instruction. This full-time contract role runs Monday through Friday from now until the end of the school year. You'll have the opportunity to guide and support students in a dedicated special education setting, collaborating with a committed team of educators.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential with authorization for Special Day Classes (SDC)
- Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students in SDC, aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Develop and modify lesson plans suited to student abilities and goals
- Track and report student progress, maintaining detailed documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to promote student growth
- Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
