Job Description ProSidian seeks a subject matter expert in nuclear energy (SME) [DNE013] to support professional services engagements for Nuclear and Environmental Management Sector clients such as DOE. The role is located at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) – Livermore, California. This is a contract contingent or contract W‑2 (IRS‑1099) position with the option to convert to full‑time employment. It aligns with functional/technical service requirements and client engagements in the Nuclear and Environmental Management industry sector. Job Overview Provide services and support as a Nuclear Energy SME to the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE/NE) regarding the AC‑100M Centrifuge Development and Licensing. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in nuclear energy technologies, specifically the development, demonstration, and operations of the AC‑100M centrifuge. Responsibilities and Duties Conduct independent technical reviews in centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance. Provide expertise in Balance of Plant support systems and deployment. Collaborate with DOE to assess reports and presentations related to centrifuge development and licensing. Support DOE in the evaluation of enrichment capability deployment projects. Ensure compliance with program schedules, cost containment, and performance metrics. Assist in the hiring and retention of key personnel for project execution. Mitigate risks associated with project implementation. Provide services under a performance‑based service acquisition contract. Provide support through steady‑state operations with special emphasis on cascade performance, maintenance activities, and parts replacement. Perform functional assessments of Centrus’s compliance to regulatory criteria of the Lessee Requirements Document. Perform independent evaluations, readiness reviews, assessments, walk‑downs, and field inspections at Centrus facilities. Support coordination of regulatory boundary activities with co‑located DOE contractors, DOE site personnel, and the NRC (when appropriate). Support coordination and interface with DOE entities, Lease activities, and other DOE contractors for liaison activities associated with Centrus and NRC. Develop analyses, technical assessments, and white papers to support decisions by DOE/NE management at DOE Headquarters. Review and develop analysis of reports, assessments, and technical/programmatic proposals and cost analysis documentation related to uranium enrichment technologies. Analyze DOE requirements involving MOAs and MOUs as they relate to DOE lessees, contractors, and other federal agency activities. Analyze security/facility access programs and maintenance of security access agreements. Address general NE‑HQ requests associated with Centrus facilities. Provide SME, project management, engineering, and technical assistance to NE‑HQ regarding the deployment of domestic uranium enrichment capability. Provide review and input on additional special technical topics/issues that might arise, including support for formal cost estimates. Attend and provide review and assessment of reports and presentations prepared by Centrus on the status, progress, and requirements associated with deployment and operation of centrifuge technology. Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear energy technology development and operations. In‑depth knowledge of the AC‑100M centrifuge development and licensing process. Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred. Strong project management skills with the ability to meet program schedules and performance metrics. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with DOE regulations and requirements related to nuclear energy projects. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
