Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Sacramento, CA
Schedule: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to join our growing team. This position is responsible for managing the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash applications, collections, account reconciliations, and customer account maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing a high-volume workload while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely.
- Post customer payments, wire transfers, ACH payments, and credit card transactions.
- Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due accounts.
- Conduct collections activities while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Research and resolve payment issues and deductions.
- Prepare AR reports and aging summaries for management.
- Maintain accurate customer records and account documentation.
- Assist with month-end close and audit requests.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting teams to resolve account issues.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
- Experience with billing, cash applications, collections, and account reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience working in a high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of sales tax and credit management processes.
- Experience with construction, distribution, manufacturing, or service industries is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
A reliable Accounts Receivable professional with strong collections, cash posting, billing, and reconciliation experience who can effectively manage customer accounts, improve cash flow, and maintain accurate financial records.
